The Cooperative International Neuromuscular Research Group (CINRG) at the Children's Hospital in Washington, DC is actively recruiting for an exciting clinical research study. If you are 18 years or older and diagnosed with Becker or Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy this study might be of special interest to you.
The purpose of this study is to understand the biochemistry of different types of LGMD and collect information about the disease processes and its effects on the quality of life. The information collected will serve to determine the natural progression of the disease and can serve as indicators of success or failure of future study treatments. This goal will be achieved by the collection of several questionnaires, physical examinations, and functional and muscle strength tests.
To determine eligibility or for more study information, please do not hesitate to contact our study coordinator, Paola Canelos (202-476-2427; pcanelos@cnmcresearch.org) or our genetic counselor, Meg Bradbury (202-476-4925; mbradbury@cnmcresearch.org).
