Comparative Study of Clinical Endpoint in DMD: HHM vs. CQMS

The Cooperative International Neuromuscular Research Group (CINRG) is actively recruiting for an exciting clinical research study. The purpose of this study is to compare testing results between different clinical evaluators and two different strength measurement tools to see which tool is more reliable to measure muscle strength. The study evaluation will take approximately three hours.

The study assessment will involve muscle strength measurement by a certified physical therapist. The study requires two visits. Visit 1 and visit 2 should be performed on different days with 12 hours to 3 days interval between testing sessions. This will depend on your schedule and availability. In order to be eligible for this study, you/your child must have confirmed clinical and molecular diagnosis of DMD, be between 5- 18 years of age and have the ability to transfer to and from the wheelchair-mat with moderate assistance. You/your child should not have had surgical procedures or musculoskeletal injuries ≤ 8 weeks before the study.

To determine eligibility or for more study information, please do not hesitate to contact our study coordinator, Paola Canelos (202-476-2427, pcanelos@cnmcresearch.org). More information about this protocol can also be found at: www.clinicaltrials.gov.
